Sumatra Highlight Medan – Bukit Lawang – Lake Toba 7D6N 2027

Arrive at Kuala Namu International Airport and meet our representative. Depart for Medan city, visiting the Maimoon Palace of the Sultan of Deli for photos in traditional Malay costume, then continue to Tjong A Fie Mansion. We then continue to Bukit Lawang. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel in Bukit Lawang and rest. Dinner at the hotel. Meals: D

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we trek into the forest to explore Gunung Leuser National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and its flora and fauna. With luck we may see Sumatran orangutans and other animals such as the vulnerable Thomas's leaf monkey, long-tailed macaques, black gibbons and other tropical rainforest flora and fauna. We have lunch (picnic box) and continue through the forest, observing wildlife and tropical birds (trekking takes about 6 hours). In the afternoon we arrive at the tent/shelter and enjoy dinner while soaking up the unique atmosphere of the jungle at night

Breakfast in the forest, then we continue exploring Gunung Leuser National Park for 3 hours to spot hornbills and various other wildlife species. Afterwards we enjoy a relaxing tube rafting trip down the Bohorok River, each on an individual inner tube. Lunch (picnic box) is provided. Return to the hotel in Bukit Lawang for rest and free time. Depart for Lake Toba after breakfast (the journey takes about 8 hours). On the way we stop at Sipiso-piso Waterfall, where you can enjoy spectacular views from the hilltop. Continue to Lake Toba, arriving in the afternoon, then cross to Samosir Island, where you will stay overnight. Arrive in Samosir, check in to the hotel and enjoy free time. Dinner is provided at the hotel. Meals: B, D

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we take the Samosir Tour to Sigale-gale in Tomok and the traditional Batak houses of Huta Siallagan, then continue to the Jesus Saviour Statue at Sibea-bea Hill and have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we visit Efrata Waterfall and Holbung Hill. On the way back to the hotel we stop at Batu Hoda Beach, then return to the hotel. Meals: B

Breakfast and hotel check-out. Transfer to the harbour to cross to Parapat. Continue the journey to Medan, stopping in Pematang Siantar for lunch. Afterwards, stop at Toko Paten to shop for local products made from processed peanuts, called Ting Ting Teng Teng Tang Tang. Arrive in Medan, check in to the hotel and rest. Then shop for Medan souvenirs such as Bika Ambon, Lapis Legit and Bolu Meranti. Dinner at a local restaurant, and visit Ucok Durian (optional - at personal expense). Meals: B

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Transfer to the airport. Arrive at Kuala Namu Airport and the tour ends. See you again and stay healthy.
